74-Year-Old Nigerian Senator Reportedly Marries 18-Year-Old Woman

 

Former Kogi East Senator Emmanuel Dangana Ocheja, 74, has reportedly married an 18-year-old woman identified as Winifred in ceremonies held in Abuja.

According to reports circulating online, the couple held their traditional wedding on September 13, 2026, followed by a white wedding on September 19, 2026.

Businessman Isaac Fayose congratulated the pair on social media and noted that the bride is the best friend of one of Ocheja’s granddaughters.

Videos from the celebrations, including footage of the couple dancing, have been shared widely, drawing significant attention due to the large age difference.

Punch Newspapers also published related video content referring to the former senator marrying his new wife.

Ocheja, a lawyer and principal of Dangana Global Legal Services, represented Kogi East in the 7th National Assembly (2011–2015).

He previously served under the Peoples Democratic Party before later associating with the All Progressives Congress. He hails from Idah in Kogi State and has roots connected to the Igala Kingdom.
