THE SPEAKER OF OGUN STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY URGES INTERESTED PEOPLE IN MSMES TO BE PRUDENT IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS.
The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly the right
Honourable Olakunle Oluomo, has pleaded with people who interested in micro
small and medium enterprises (MSME) to be patient, acquire necessary skills and
be prudent to attain success.
Declaring
open a day capacity building for entrepreneurs in the state organized by the
Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Partnership with small and Medium Enterprises
Development Agency (SMEDAN).
He also encouraged them to be
creative and invest in business enterprises that would outlive their generation
stressing that investments is a life long venture that must be nurtured till
the operator break even.
The speaker also advised the new
MSME operators to take advantage of the government initiatives like the anchor
borrowers programme and owo oko owo Dapo
to empower themselves especially in farming animal husbandry and other
enterprises that could make them job creators.
In their remarks, the consultant to
the Governors on budget and planning Mr Olaolu Olabintan, His commerce and
industrial as well as the media counterpart, Mrs Sola Arobieke and Mr Yinka
Ogundimu harped on the need for the participants to ensure that they benefit
from all Government initiative to grow the sub-sector in the state.
Earlier,
the permanent secretary in the ministry Mrs Lydia Fajounbo, assured that the Government
would continue to create enabling environment for the MSEMs through different
programmes and initiatives, submitting that the sub-sector remained control to
the growth of any nation’s economy.
