US Congressman Moore Hails Arrest Of Suspected Fulani Terr0rists Leader In Nigeria
The United States Congressman, Riley Moore, has welcomed the reported arrest of Mahmoud Adam, whom he described as a radical Islamic Fulani terrorist leader allegedly responsible for the killings of Christians in Nigeria.
Moore, in a post on X, described the arrest as “great news for Christians in Nigeria,” saying it demonstrated that the security cooperation between the United States and Nigeria was producing results.
According to the Republican lawmaker, the Nigerian government deserved credit for the arrest, while he also linked the development to efforts by the US Congress and the administration of President Donald Trump to protect Christians.
“This is great news for Christians in Nigeria! The arrest of Mahmoud Adam, a radical Islamic Fulani terrorist leader responsible for the killings of countless Christians, is proof that the US-Nigeria Security Cooperation agreement is bearing fruit,” Moore said.
He added that the Nigerian government should be commended for the arrest, while arguing that increased US efforts to defend Christians were making a positive difference.
“The Nigerian government deserves credit for making this arrest, and it’s clear that Congress and the Trump admin’s efforts to defend Christians are making a positive difference,” the congressman said.
The lawmaker’s comments come amid continuing security concerns in Nigeria, particularly attacks attributed to armed groups in parts of the country.
However, Moore’s characterisation of Adam and the allegation that he was responsible for the deaths of “countless Christians” are claims made by the US lawmaker and not independently established by Nigerian security authorities.
The reported arrest also comes against the backdrop of growing security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States, with both countries maintaining counterterrorism and security partnerships.
