FLASH: Police Officer Arrested For Allegedly Doctoring Case File, Doctor’s Report

Operatives of the zone 2 police command have arrested McDonald Okpara, a Lagos hotelier, for allegedly sodomising two teenage boys.

An investigating police officer (IPO) attached to the Isheri-Osun police division was also arrested for allegedly doctoring statements and medical reports in the case.

Okpara, identified as the owner of Empire hotel in the Ejigbo area of Lagos, was accused of the act.

The teenage boys are secondary school students.

In December 2024, the mother of one of the boys reported the case at the Isheri-Osun police division. However, little progress was made.

Subsequently, the case was transferred to the zone 2 police headquarters in Onikan.

Thereafter, it was discovered that the case file containing statements of the accused, one of the victims, and medical reports, has been doctored.

The IPO was accused of being behind the alteration of the documents.

Okpara and the IPO are currently in the custody of the zone 2 police command.

Ayuba Umma, spokesperson for the zone 2 police command, told TheCable that investigations are ongoing.

Umma also said Okpara has been arrested over the allegations.

“The zone is currently investigating a case involving the named person. He has been arrested,” she said.
