Adefemi Emerges Community Association Chairman

 Victor Oluwole Adefemi, lecturer in the Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies, Osun State University, has emerged the next chairman of Oloruntedo Ayegbami Community Development Association, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

In an election conducted amidst fanfare in the community on Saturday, Adefemi emerged victorious after defeating his rival, Mr. Lekan Fadeyi in the election.

Adefemi in his acceptance speech, Adefemi thanked his co-landlords for the honour.

He promised to justify the confidence reposed in him, pledging to serve the community by attracting various developmental projects and aiding its continuous growth.

Adefemi also sought the cooperation of all members for the new administration, stressing that they would not do anything to jeopardise their collective interests.

Members of the community who spoke at the event contended that Adefemi’s worthy leadership skills made him deserving of the honour.

They expressed optimism in the capability of his leadership to deliver on its mandate.

Elected alongside Adefemi were Sunday Okoya (Baba Bread) – Vice Chairman, Idowu Olusola – Treasurer, Olusesan Olujinmi – Auditor, Olusesi Abati – Financial Secretary, Francis Erinoso – General Secretary, Mayokun Sonde – Youth Representative, Sina Adenubi – Welfare Officer, Mrs. D.O Gbeminiyi – Women Representative, Mrs Adenike Akindele – Social Officer who are women representatives as well as Victor Sowunmi who emerged Asst. General Secretary.

Earlier before the commencement of the election, the Electoral Committee Chairman, Mr. Olubunmi Fadimu admonished electorate and contestants not to engage in any act of violence that can mar the process.

Security was provided during the election by Kemta Divisional Police Headquarter Abeokuta. The team was led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO).

The new executives to serve for the next three years will be inaugurated on June 18th 2022.
