Honourable Olakunle Oluomo

In view of the increase in community spread of coronavirus and non compliance with the government directives to wear face masks and observe social distancing, the Chairman House Committee on Education, Assembyman Ademuyiwa Adeyemi has advocated  a law to punish defaulters.

The lawmaker representing Abeokuta South II made the call while speaking under personal explanation at the plenary on Thursday.
According to him,it is a common scene in the state where people disregard government directives to wear face masks and observe social distancing, just as he appealed to his colleagues to conduct public enlightenment in their various constituencies to reduce the spread of the pandemic.
Responding, the Speaker the Right Hon Olakunle Oluomo urged the state Executive Council to find a formula to enforce the use of face mask.
He also advised transport unions in the state not to lift passengers without face mask.
