I don't regret kidnapping APC chairman's son

                                                                   
 A woman arrested for kidnapping the four-year-old son of Borno APC chairman has confessed.

The suspect confessed to kidnapping the boy and boasted that she'd do it again without remorse.
She claimed she kidnapped the boy because she needed money to have fun A female kidnap suspect, Fatima Muhammed, while being paraded by the police on Monday, September 24, said she has no regret kidnapping the four-year-old son of Bukar Dalori, the Borno chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fatima spoke on Monday when she was paraded shortly after her arrest in Maiduguri. “I committed the crime because I love money. 
I have no regrets for the crime I committed and even if it is my own child, I will kidnap him for money. “I know he is the son of the APC chairman; I took him because I needed money to enjoy myself somewhere. Why should I regret anything?" Fatima said.

Earlier, the state Commissioner of Police Damian Chukwu said Fatima was just delivered of a baby boy when she was arrested at Albarka Hotel in Maiduguri on September 21. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Fatima allegedly abducted the boy and two others from a school and demanded N20 million ransom.

 Chukwu said the woman and the victim were in good condition at the time she was arrested by men of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad. 
“It is pertinent to mention that Fatima Mohammed was pregnant at the time she kidnapped the minor and gave birth to a baby boy while still keeping the victim on September 21," he said. 


The commissioner said two other suspects, Muhammed Musa and Muktar Ali-Shaibu, both from the Bulumkutu area of Maiduguri, were arrested in Kano at the point of collecting the ransom. He noted that the suspects confessed to the crime.

Chukwu added that the command was also investigating the involvement of an army major who reportedly paid for the accommodation of the suspect to keep the child at the hotel, adding that the manager of the hotel had been arrested.

The kidnappers consisted of a 60-year-old mother Aminat Karimu Ajibola and her two sons Akeem Bashir and Ojo Solomon, aged 32 and 26 years respectively.

 The Rapid Response Squad unit of the Lagos police command said in a statement signed its spokesman CSP Chike Oti on Sunday, September 9, that the trio were arrested on Saturday, September 7, 2018 after a kidnap-for-ransom 'deal' went wrong.
