The last may not have been heard about the crisis rocking the Ogun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) just as it has accused the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomole of trying to impose a specific candidate on the people of the state.

The crisis took another dimension when the state chapter through the Secretary to the State Government, Barr Taiwo Adeoluwa warned that the chapter will boycott the governorship primary of the party in the state excepts the National Working Committee writes the government on a preferred date that will no longer be shifted.
Adeoluwa said this in an emergency press briefing organised late Tuesday evening to make the grievances of the chapter known over the postponement of the date meant for the direct primary in the state.

The SSG also expressed confidence that the Amosun group in the party will win the primary even if it is conducted a hundred times.

Adeoluwa further decried the use of ballot papers stressing that such is against the guiding rules of direct primary in the party.
It would be recalled that the NWC had fixed dates for the state gubernatorial primary three times but failed to hold it.

Adeoluwa however called on all well-meaning Nigerians to wade in on the issue.

Adeoluwa said, “with all due respect, we are not known for reckless, irresponsible allegation/statement but it appears that there is a script that is carefully  directed by the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. We told them, if you conduct this primaries 100 times, this is Ogun State, we will win. Unless they have other plans or games unknown to us.

“We have learnt on good authority that the national headquarters of APC is determined and desperate to force a particular candidate on the people of Ogun state. We will be ready for them and we shall do nothing unlawful.

“But in view of the fact that for the past three days our people have been keeping  faith in the process, we have decided, and that is what the leaders have asked me to tell the whole world.

“That, in Ogun state we shall not participate in any primary unless and until the National  Working Committee  will specifically write to us on a date that will not shift and agree on the mode of primary.

“Secondly, we decline ballot paper because that is not their own guidelines. We cannot smuggle into Ogun state, what has not been practised elsewhere. We don’t know why they are desperate to disturb the peace of Ogun state.

“We must sincerely call on our leader President Muhammadu Buhari to please call Com. Oshiomole to order. We would not allow anybody to take us for granted.

"We hope that the whole of our country including well-meaning people who have not compromised everywhere will help to beg Com. Adams Oshiomole not to set Ogun state on fire. We will be ready,” he added.
